What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a safe and natural state of deep relaxation, a lovely day-dream like state in which people usually feel very comfortable and relaxed. When in this hypnotic state we can easily accept suggestions to support us to make positive changes in our lives.

Hypnosis is a natural way to learn new behaviours – children under 7 spend their lives in a hypnotic state to enable them to “download” all the information they need to survive in our complex society. However sometimes the information downloaded is not useful and can be the root cause of problems in later life. Both EFT and hypnosis can help you to examine and re-write this old, out of date information, replacing it with beliefs and behaviours to support your health and well-being.

How can hypnotherapy help me?

Hypnotherapy can be successful with many issues, for example:-

  • IBS,
  • Menopausal symptoms,
  • Freedom from smoking,
  • Fears and phobias,
  • Stress and anxiety,
  • Panic attacks,
  • Nail biting and other unwanted habits,

What can I expect from my therapy appointment?

The first part of the session is spent talking about what you would like to achieve or your progress so far.

Normally during the appointment we will use both EFT and hypnotherapy to ensure that you achieve what you wish to achieve in the best way for you.

You will be guided into a lovely relaxed hypnotic state, during which the therapist can make positive and appropriate suggestions to enable you to easily achieve what you wish to achieve. You will, however be fully aware and fully in control, you will not be asleep and cannot be made to do anything you do not wish to do.

Whilst you are pleasantly and deeply relaxed the therapist communicates directly with the subconscious part of your mind, allowing you to use your own resources to make the positive changes you wish to make.

How long is a therapy session and how may appointments will I need?

A therapy session normally lasts for 60 or 90 minutes. The content of each appointment is tailored to you and may include both EFT and hypnotherapy. The number of sessions required varies between individuals and what they wish to achieve, normally between four and six sessions are recommended.

Can you help me to become a non-smoker?

Hypnosis is an effective way to free yourself from smoking. This hypnosis session lasts two hours and normally only one appointment is needed.
