You work using EFT (tapping), I’ve not heard of this, what is it?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is often referred to as Tapping. It is a simple stress reducing technique which involves tapping with our own fingertips on specific points on the face and hands. In a therapy session we explore the issue in an appropriate way whilst tapping, this provides a simple and effective way to relieve physical or emotional stress, remove fears or to help you gain greater clarity.

Research shows that stress, tension and emotional trauma contribute to pain and disease. Tapping eases tension reducing the impact of memories that trigger emotional distress, allowing the body to rebalance and naturally heal. In this way tapping can provide relief from a wide range of emotional or physical issues and stress related health problems.

Can I use tapping by myself?

One of the great benefits of tapping, is that once you’ve learned the technique you can use it anywhere, anytime: at the bus stop, dentists, supermarket queue, or in middle of the night. Its a great self-help tool to use whenever you feel stress or anxiety. However working with a therapist on the more intense or tricky issues will keep you safe, focussed and enable you to get the best results in a gentle way.

I’m a bit nervous about hypnotherapy?

Many people who have come across stage hypnosis may be fearful of what might happen in hypnosis. However when used in therapy hypnosis is a safe and natural tool, it is a state of deep relaxation in which people usually feel very comfortable. In this state of deep relaxation people are able to more easily accept suggestions which support them to make positive changes in their lives. If you have any specific concerns about hypnosis let me know on our call and I can explain further and put your mind at rest.

Are you insured and regulated?

How many appointments will I need to see results?

This varies from person to person and on what you wish to achieve. For most people I would recommend between 4 and 6 sessions. However some things can be achieved more quickly and other more complex conditions may require a longer term commitment. We can talk about this in your pre-appointment telephone call.

The programmes for IBS and pain relief both consist of 6 individual appointments plus a commitment to listen every day to the audio recordings provided.

Zoom and phone appointments.

In order to keep us all safe and well during this Covid-19 pandemic most appointments will now be on line using zoom (or if you don’t have the internet, its no problem EFT tapping works very well when the appointment is conducted over the phone). In exceptional circumstances, face to face appointments can be made, these will be in York, England.

There are a few things you need in order to have a successful zoom appointment.

  • You will need a good internet connection
  • A computer or phone with a camera
  • A private space so you can talk freely without being disturbed?
  • Before the appointment I will email a Zoom link, all you need to do is to click on the link in time for your appointment
  • It may be helpful to have a glass of water, some tissues, a pen and some paper to hand too
